Secretary - Probate Department

Do you have experience as a Legal Secretary? Yes? You could be just the person we are looking for!
Key responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
- Full secretarial support
- Correspondence including email, audit/digital & copy typing
- Communication with clients and other professionals to secure the desired objective
- Professionally dealing with general enquiries from clients, solicitors and other third parties
- Diary management and meeting organisation
- General administration of documents, letters, timesheets
- Perform other duties to ensuring the smooth running of the practice
Experience
- Proven experience within a similar secretarial role
- Audio typing/use of digital dictation
- Fast, accurate typing skills
- Ability to turn around documents at speed
- Proficient in using in Leap, use of quill etc
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to use own initiative and remain calm under pressure
- Confident and professional telephone manner
- Pro-active and "can do" attitude
- Performing other duties to ensuring the smooth running of the practice

Paralegal/Legal Assistant (Conveyancing)

- Expected Hours: 39 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Work Location: 12 Grosvenor Road, Wrexham
Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in using legal database software
- Strong research skills

- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion

Qualifications
- Formal education and/or training required
- Minimum LL.B or equivalent (BA in Law and GDL)
- Candidates who have successfully obtained their PGDip in Professional Legal Practice will be preferred
Experience
1 - 3 years’ experience with another law firm, government office or other type of institution preferred but not essential.
About the role
- Using telephone, email and diary systems and TEAMS
- Attending to clients both on the telephone and in person
- Making appointments, arranging meetings and maintaining an up to date diary
- Dealing accurately with incoming and outgoing post
- Preparing correspondence and documents through accurate audio typing and digital dictation
- Dealing accurately with filing and storage
- Setting up new files accurately and speedily on instructions from Fee Earners
- Assisting with storage and retrieval of files
- Dealing with Post Completion tasks
The successful candidate for the role within the Conveyancing department will be responsible to Gareth Kelly, Director, a solicitor who specialises all Conveyancing matters.

About the role
Duties will include:
- Preparing and organising legal documents for upcoming cases and hearings
- Discussing case details with fee earners, clients and colleagues
- Organising files for ongoing proceedings
- Conducting legal research, including preparation of reports for fee earners based on case specifications
- Assisting with document preparation including, but not limited to, the drafting of Court applications and witness statements
- Preparation of Legal Aid applications
- Managing cases, including the handling of confidential client or case information
- Communicating with clients both directly and indirectly
- Going to court when necessary
- Undertaking general office work
The successful candidate for the role within the Family department will be responsible to Joshua Williams (Head of Family and Director), a solicitor who specialises in representing both Children and Parents in Public Law (Children) and Private Law matters.
